Public debate on shopping needs in Devizes

A public debate on shopping needs and car parking in Devizes, Wiltshire, began this week. The consultation is based on a study by Gillespies, commissioned by Kennet District Council, which concluded that more needs to be done to attract retailers to help stop an exodus of shoppers to other towns. It suggests redeveloping the central car park to provide two larger stores and six medium-sized shops, as well as a 150-space underground car park.
