Study to examine impacts of harnessing energy

A study to examine the impacts of harnessing energy from the marine environment has been commissioned by the Scottish Executive. Faber Maunsell and Metoc will assess the potential impacts of a range of technologies that generate energy from waves and tides. The team will carry out a strategic environmental assessment across Scotland's west coast, the Orkney and Shetland Islands and Pentland Firth. The findings will guide marine renewable energy development.
