Casebook: Appeal Cases - Community Facilities - Station extension judged to enhance amenity

An extension to a fire station in north London has been allowed following a ruling that it would not adversely affect the amenity and outlook of adjoining residents. The inspector decided that the extension would improve the neighbours' privacy by screening their garden from overlooking by windows in the station. He also observed that it would help to muffle any "robust comments" that might be audible from these windows when fire crew are in the building.

DCS No: 100039133; Inspector: Tony Pickering; Written representations.
