The Commons environmental audit committee is to investigate

The Commons environmental audit committee is to investigate the government's progress since its report on sustainable housing earlier this year (Planning, 4 February, p3). The committee had criticised of the lack of a proper assessment of the environmental implications of the communities plan and the Barker review proposals. It is now seeking views on the code for sustainable buildings and is looking at how the ODPM's communities plan tackles environmental impact. Evidence should be submitted by 24 November.
