Public consultation on plans to extend superquarry closed
A public consultation on plans to extend Europe's biggest coastal superquarry has closed. Glensanda quarry on the Morvern peninsula in the west Highlands employs around 200 people. Operator Foster Yeoman wants to extend it from 125ha to 206ha, but local residents insist that the company does not need the extra production. They argue that some of the quarry workings would be visible for longer than anticipated.
