Consultation on a draft local development framework launched

Consultation on a draft local development framework was launched by Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council this week. The document features a core strategy that proposes a "varied, distinctive and successful local economy". The draft states that a range of good-quality homes should be provided, argues that local people should have good access to jobs and promises to promote Barnsley town centre as the borough's main venue for shopping, indoor leisure facilities, culture and business.
