Minerva PLC wins battle to build a retail development in Croydon

The latest round in the battle to build a retail development in Croydon has been won by Minerva PLC. An appeal by rival developer Whitgift Consortium to expand the Whitgift shopping centre has been dismissed by deputy prime minister John Prescott. This paves the way for Minerva's Park Place project, which has been granted permission by the London Borough of Croydon. The development will provide 100,335m2 of shopping space, restaurants and cafes.
