Building for Life standards were awarded to eight housing schemes

Building for Life standards were awarded to eight housing schemes across England this week. Five of the winning developments earned the gold award, which rewards the highest standards of architecture and sustainable development. These include a contemporary scheme by Cala Homes at Newhall in Essex that gives priority to pedestrians and cyclists and a 174-home development by Persimmon Homes in Southampton that features a high affordable component. The awards are backed by the Home Builders Federation and the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment.
