Northern Ireland towns awarded help

Seventeen towns across Northern Ireland have been awarded almost £900,000 to help them attract shoppers and investors. The Department for Social Development announced the funding this week. The grants will be used to fund projects ranging from events and advertising campaigns to schemes to improve town centres. The biggest beneficiaries are Antrim, Armagh, Lurgan, Coleraine and Portadown, which will each receive £75,000.
