Major conference on climate change

Business leaders were told to make haste in translating the G8 summit ambitions for a low-carbon future into reality at a major conference on climate change this week. The conference, hosted jointly by DEFRA, the DTI and the Climate Group, set out to explore energy efficient investment as well as the business opportunities offered by a low-carbon economy. Trade and industry secretary Alan Johnson said: "The smartest companies already know that business as usual is not an option and that it makes sense to invest and think differently about energy use."
