Plans for central Bolton redevelopment given go-ahead

Plans for a £100 million redevelopment of central Bolton were given the go-ahead last week. The Central Street area scheme includes an anchor store, smaller shops and 150 flats and will double car parking facilities. The development aims to create a bustling area of high street stores, cafes, bars and modern town centre living. The proposals, drawn up by Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council and Wilson Bowden Developments, include an upgrade of Bolton Methodist Mission's Victoria Hall. The hall was built in 1900 and is still the town's largest venue.
