Work to rejuvenate Liverpool's Aintree Industrial Estate completed

Initial infrastructure and environmental work to rejuvenate more than 100ha at Liverpool's Aintree Industrial Estate has been completed. The work is part of a £3.95 million programme by Liverpool Land Development Company to regenerate the estate. The site is home to more than 100 businesses but has been subject to little improvement work since the 1950s. The second phase will begin in March and includes improvements to highway infrastructure, the public realm and key boundary walls between Charnock Road and the Jacobs factory. The whole project will be completed by autumn 2006.
