Slough campaigners protest

Campaigners resumed their protest against incinerators proposed in Slough this week despite permission having been granted. The Slough Anti-Incinerator Network staged the protest outside waste management company Grundon's base in Colnbrook. It believes that the plants will create toxic emissions and has asked the council to revoke the consent, initially issued in 2000. But a council spokeswoman said that a review last year found that this would lead to the council being sued.
