Writing policy guidance

Guidance on writing policy for local development documents has been published by the Planning Officers Society. The guide is designed to accompany existing ODPM advice on the spatial planning system heralded by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. It covers joining up with other agencies, how planners should be central to council activities, the emphasis on public consultation and drawing together wide-ranging spatial documents with development plans. The guide can be viewed via www.PlanningResource.co.uk.
