Death of Norman Lee

Environmental research pioneer Norman Lee has died. Lee had worked in the environmental impact assessment (EIA) field since the early 1970s and advised the European Commissioner over many years. He was co-director at the University of Manchester's EIA centre until 1996 and was previously director of the university's pollution research unit. He also worked on environmental policy issues with the UN economic commission for Europe. Lee was actively involved in the RTPI environmental planning and protection network and in developing EIA training programmes around the world.
