A study of cycle-friendly routes in Ireland

A nationwide study to identify a 2,500km signed network of cycle-friendly routes in Ireland is to be carried out by Colin Buchanan. The project, for national tourism development authority Failte Ireland, aims to publicise the country as a European cycling holiday destination. It will look at integrating cycling and public transport, the cycle hire business and a marketing strategy for cycling. It is hoped that the study will feed into a national cycling policy for Ireland. The project team includes Sustrans and Irish Cycling Safaris.
