Bat surveys of up to 5,000 homes in the Leeds area

Bat surveys of up to 5,000 homes in the Leeds area are to be carried out by the environmental division of White Young Green. The five-year contract has been commissioned by Leeds City Council to identify properties in which bats are present. Measures will then be put in place to ensure that the bats are not adversely affected as reroofing and repairs are made to council housing stock. All bat species are protected under UK and European legislation following a decline in their population.
