Mansfield market revamp

A £1.6 million revamp of Mansfield market began this week to help rejuvenate the town centre. The Market Place and Church Street project, mainly funded by the government's liveability scheme, includes high-quality paving, contemporary street furniture, a dedicated performance area for outdoor events, an improved stall layout and an illuminated water feature in front of the town hall. Mansfield District Council is leading the scheme with Aggregate Industries UK as the main contractor. Market traders will be relocated throughout the town until the project is completed next March.
