North West regional development agency to provide £2 million

The North West regional development agency is to provide £2 million in the run-up to Liverpool's 2008 Capital of Culture celebrations. The agency has agreed to become an official partner of Liverpool Culture Company (LCC) in a sponsorship deal announced last week. The news came as LCC unveiled its delivery plan for the cultural programme in 2005-06. This outlines objectives such as increasing inward investment and repositioning Liverpool as a world city.
