England parks reviewed

Parks and green spaces in England and Wales are being reviewed to see whether they merit Green Flag status. Civic Trust judges have begun visiting the 465 sites entered in this year's scheme. Criteria include whether the area is welcoming, clean and well maintained and how it tackles health, safety and security. Judges will also examine conservation and community involvement. The results will be announced on 28 July.
