Study of how to improve London's Embankment commissioned by mayor

A study of how to improve London's Embankment has been commissioned by mayor Ken Livingstone. A design team led by MacCormac Jamieson Pritchard Architects will examine ways to revitalise the Victorian riverside area including the tree-lined promenade and several listed parks and gardens. The study aims to maintain the area's role as a vital route for traffic while recognising the needs of pedestrians. It is due to be completed in May.
