Kings Waterfront redevelopment secures funding

The redevelopment of Liverpool's Kings Waterfront has secured government funding totalling £83.4 million. Deputy prime minister John Prescott confirmed the funding of £67.9 million for English Partnerships and £15.5 million for the Northwest Development Agency (NWDA) last week. The package allows the development of a multi-purpose arena, exhibition centre, public piazza and multi-storey car park. The redevelopment project is a partnership between urban regeneration company Liverpool Vision, Liverpool City Council, the NWDA and the Government Office for the North West.
