Preferred developer chosen for Barnsley

A preferred developer has been chosen for the regeneration of Barnsley's market area.

Last week Yorkshire Forward and Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council announced the appointment of the 1249 Regeneration Partnership, a joint venture between Ashcroft Estates, the Guildhouse Group and Multiplex, to carry out the £180 million development. The scheme includes indoor and outdoor markets, a retail development, a multi-screen cinema, an amphitheatre and 100 flats. The project is the first major development in Yorkshire Forward's urban renaissance programme.
