Wilkinson Eyre Architects wins international design competition

Wilkinson Eyre Architects has won an international design competition to transform Liverpool's King's Waterfront. The scheme for a series of civic buildings will form a focal point of the city's Capital of Culture celebrations in 2008. Wilkinson Eyre's designs are part of EDAW's masterplan for the Mersey riverside, which includes a public piazza, arena, conference and exhibition centres, 96 homes and two hotels. Plans by urban regeneration company Liverpool Vision are due to be considered by the city council's planning committee next week.
