Development plans for hotel in East Sussex revised

Plans for a major development of the former Metropole Hotel in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, have been revised following public objections that it would block views to the De La Warr Pavilion. Changes to the initial proposals by Sea Space and ABK Architects include reducing the scale of development next to the pavilion and spreading parts of the scheme along the seafront. A series of community inquiry workshops have been held to gauge opinion on the plans, which include a hotel, shops, offices and town renewal. The revised proposals are due to be turned into a planning application next year.
