Reopening Bradford Canal could help regenerate city centre

Reopening the Bradford Canal could help to regenerate the city centre, a report insisted last week. A study prepared for Bradford City Council, British Waterways and Bradford Centre Regeneration claims that waterside improvement would lift land values. It predicts that the canal would create green space while improving access to shops, leisure and tourism sites. The 5.2km canal would cost £17 million to redevelop and involve building ten locks and four bridges.
