Urban freight management strategy for Cork city centre

An urban freight management strategy for Cork city centre is to be carried out by Faber Maunsell. Cork City Council says that the city has a healthy commercial centre but accepts that development and transport infrastructure is restricted by its cross-river location and development pattern. The freight strategy will analyse deliveries and collections in the city and outlying business areas. The consultancy will consider the needs of local freight operators in St Patrick Street and Oliver Plunkett Street, where major refurbishment is nearing completion. The study is due to be published in early 2005.
