Charlton Athletic FC to submit proposals

Charlton Athletic Football Club is to apply for permission to increase the capacity of its stadium, it announced this week. The club wishes to raise the capacity of the Valley in south-east London from 26,875 to 30,900. The expansion would involve redeveloping the east stand and south-east corner of the ground as the first step in the club's plans to increase capacity to 40,600. The club, which is also in the process of redeveloping its training ground, will submit proposals to the London Borough of Greenwich on 13 December.
