Brownfield land project endorsed

A £200 million regeneration project to develop 25ha of brownfield land in Gloucester was endorsed last week. Despite Gloucester City Council's decision to approve the Gloucester Quays scheme, it will be referred to the Government Office for the South West to decide whether to call it in. The scheme would provide a new campus for the city's college of further education, a factory outlet centre, 1,000 canalside flats, an 80-bedroom hotel, shops and offices.
