Chinatown regeneration could destroy character

Regeneration plans for London's Chinatown could destroy the area's unique character, campaigners have warned. Community group Min Quan fears that plans to redevelop a key building in Soho would lead to increased rents that local firms would be unable to afford. Developer Rosewheel has served notice on tenants of the Sandringham building, close to the area's landmark pagoda. Westminster City Council says that it has not received a planning application from Rosewheel.
