Plans for regeneration in Heads of the Valleys announced

Plans to form a partnership to drive regeneration in the Heads of the Valleys area of Wales were announced this week. Speaking at the former Corus tinplate works, now the Ebbw Vale Innovation Centre, economic development minister Andrew Davies pledged an additional £12 million in the current budget to fund the group. He said that the area is vital to the economic future of Wales, but despite almost £1 billion a year of public investment, decades of decline have not been reversed. He challenged councils and organisations to work together on a shared agenda to bring about change.
