More work is needed on plans for the Northwestgate and Queensgate retail development in Peterborough, the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment has insisted. It claims that the design is too similar to a standard mall and warns that the promise of the original drawings has been lost. The scheme includes extending and refurbishing the Queensgate Centre and linking it to Northwestgate via a shopping street and public square. But the commission has suggested that a reworked project could still be successful.
