West Cumbria Forum holds it first meeting

The West Cumbria Forum, set up to help arrest the area's economic decline, held its first meeting this week. The forum's main task will be to help the area cope with the closure of the Windscale nuclear plant, which is the main local employer. At the meeting, trade and industry secretary Patricia Hewitt announced that the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority will be located in west Cumbria.
