Plans for scheme to regenerate Hatfield town centre

Plans for a £60 million scheme to regenerate Hatfield town centre have received the go-ahead. The project includes shops, restaurants, a multi-storey car park, library, indoor market hall, bus interchange and 162 homes. St Modwen Developments is to develop the proposal for Welwyn Hatfield Council and English Partnerships. Work could start in early 2006, once site assembly and highways issues have been resolved.
