In brief: Historic aviation buildings to be restored

Historic aviation buildings at Farnborough Business Park previously covered by Official Secrets Act rules are to be restored and opened to the public for the first time. The £20 million scheme by Slough Estates covers a 10ha cluster of wind tunnel and research buildings at the former Royal Aircraft Establishment. The proposals include a public square, offices, a heritage centre, a cafe-bar and a nursery. Work will start later this month and is expected to be complete by July 2006.
