In brief: Policies in Southwark to be reviewed

Planning and regeneration policies in the London Borough of Southwark are to be reviewed by Lord Herman Ouseley, former executive chairman of the Commission for Racial Equality, at the request of the council. The review of the borough's equality and diversity framework follows allegations that failures in the planning department, which are under separate investigation, were racially motivated (Planning, 13 August, p4). Lord Ouseley's report will be considered by the council next year.
