The Scottish Parliament welcomed more than 900 visitors to the first sitting of MSPs in its new Holyrood complex this week. First minister Jack McConnell outlined the Scottish Executive's legislative programme at the opening debate. The executive will introduce 12 bills in the coming year. Lord Fraser's Holyrood inquiry report into the spiralling cost of the £431 million building will be published next week.
