Regeneration News brief: State-of-the-art skatepark opens in central Manchester

A state-of-the-art skatepark in central Manchester was opened last week. The park, on London Road beneath the Mancunian Way, includes a series of pipes and flat banks set in a replica street environment, although it is located away from residential areas. The skatepark cost £75,000 and was designed by consultancy Fearless, which drew up the proposal in consultation with skateboarders. It will be managed by Manchester City Council's leisure department.
