Editorial: Brave new world still waiting for take-off

If anybody wanted evidence of the false economy of not investing in planning, then take a look at this week's research into the recruitment and retention crisis overwhelming London. There has been a lot of idle chatter in the past year about generic skills and a brave new world for planning, yet in the capital at least the situation is as bleak as ever. It is not planners' skills that are the problem. There are simply nowhere near enough of them.
