Regeneration News brief: Second round of bidding for DTI's coal investment fund opens

The second round of bidding for the DTI's coal investment aid fund has opened, with £19 million up for grabs. The fund is designed to provide up to 30 per cent of the total costs of investment projects by mine-owning companies. The money includes £15 million that was offered to Coalpower in the first round for investment in Hatfield Colliery. The company has since gone into administration and no further bids for the site have been submitted by other firms.
