MVA has been appointed to develop a transport modelling system for Stockport town centre. The study, commissioned by Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council, the Highways Agency and the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive, will examine the impact of the council's town centre M60 Gateway strategy. The strategy includes introducing Metrolink to Stockport and an integrated transport corridor programme to improve bus operations in the town centre. MVA has also been appointed by the Department for Transport to study the contribution of traffic management and parking to reducing congestion across the UK.
