Regeneration News: Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority approves plans

Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority has approved plans for a gas terminal on the disused Esso oil refinery site in Milford Haven. Exxon Mobil will ship liquefied natural gas from overseas and unload it at the west Wales port. The gas will then be treated and pumped into the UK's pipeline network. Exxon claims that the proposal will bring jobs to the area, but Friends of the Earth Cymru has called on the Welsh Assembly Government to call in the scheme, arguing that the fuel poses an "unacceptable threat" to the population.
