In brief: First 200 homes at Upton development receive go-ahead

The first 200 homes of a development at Upton have received the go-ahead from Northampton Borough Council. The scheme, brought forward by English Partnerships under the government's sustainable communities plan, is a mixture of flats and terraced houses on a 3.7ha site with 20 per cent of the properties to be affordable. Shenley Lodge Developments will build the homes to design codes developed with the local community.
