IN BRIEF: Plans for homes in eastern England approved

Plans to build almost half a million homes in eastern England over the next 20 years were approved by the East of England Regional Assembly last week. The assembly's planning panel backed amendments to RPG14 setting out proposals for 478,000 homes in the region. Ministers have told the assembly that they want the area to accommodate another 18,000 in the expanded London-Stansted-Cambridge-Peterborough corridor. The guidance will be submitted to the ODPM later this month.
