CASEBOOK: Appeal cases - Housing: New build - Green belt transport depot redevelopment blocked

A called-in application to redevelop a former transport depot in the Worcestershire green belt for 24 dwellings has failed to win support from the deputy prime minister, who concluded that it represented an inappropriate form of development that harmed the openness of the area. He placed little weight on the applicant's claim that commercial use could be resumed, concluding that a more intensive storage use was unlikely to occur.
