Young Vic theatre set for makeover

The Young Vic theatre on London's South Bank is set for a £12.5 million makeover after the London Borough of Lambeth gave the go-ahead this week. The 33-year-old structure will get a bigger ticket and information desk and an expanded mezzanine foyer with cafes and bars. The redesign, by architect Haworth Tompkins, will also raise the height of the main auditorium and provide two smaller rehearsal studios.
