CASEBOOK: Appeal cases - Commercial and Industrial - Ramp rejected on highway safety grounds

A ramp allowing access to a Halifax branch and telling machine in north Wales has been rejected because it would result in a hazard to pedestrians and other highway users. The inspector noted the problems that would ensue for people with sight impairment and felt that the advantages gained by allowing disabled access to the site were outweighed by the harm to highway safety. DCS No: 50857547; Inspector: Anthony Vaughan; Written representations.
