Plans to build offices at Ashton Moss in Tameside

Plans to build 9,000 sq m of offices at Ashton Moss in Tameside won permission last week following an inquiry. Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council refused the proposal last year, arguing that it would threaten an office development in Ashton-under-Lyme (Planning, 2 August 2002, p2). Developers insisted that they would be complementary. AMEC's mixed-use development also includes industrial and distribution space, leisure and entertainment facilities and a hotel.
