Enforcement action taken against a timber playhouse in the front garden of a corner house in Gloucestershire has been upheld. Although the structure was partially screened by a fence and shrubs, the roof of the building was still visible. The inspector held that this caused some injury to amenity and the quality of the street scene. The appellant's argument that the building could not be sited in the rear garden because of restricted space was not considered, as no application fee had been paid.
