Consultancy hires chief for new position

Robert Ringrose has been appointed as chief executive of RPS Group's planning, transport and environment division.

The division has created the post after a number of years of growth during which it has acquired leading planning firms Chapman Warren and Town Planning Consultancy.

Ringrose has 25 years' experience in property and is former European director of Jones Lang LaSalle. He will focus on strategic issues and acquisitions, working alongside Ken Trew, the division's managing director, and John Rhodes, its chairman.

Rhodes said: "We needed someone with the expertise to build on growth by taking the business to the next level of market recognition and excellence."
